Wow! We are closing in on the end of the school year. May has come in the blink of an eye!! Thank you for an amazing school year and I’m so grateful for all of you. We have a fun and busy month ahead, with end of year field trips, parties, class activities. For the next couple of weeks we are still buckled into the end of level testing, and with that…if you need to take your child out of school for appointments and things, please let teachers know as soon as possible so that they can make adjustments for testing. We are also in the middle of class placement and if you know that your child will not be at Greenville next school year, we need you to call in as soon as possible to let us know so that we can take that into account during this placement process.
Our Dragon Festival was a huge success. Thank you to the PTO, and volunteers who helped put it together. A big thank you to all those that came out and supported our Festival. We have such an amazing community.
Thank you all for a great school year, and for being such a fabulous parent community. I appreciate your trust & support.

END OF YEAR REMINDERS:
● Please make sure that your child has enough money in their lunch account for the rest of the year. Any remaining funds in your child's account will move with them to next school year.
● If you are missing any of your students belongings, please come look through the lost and found.
● All library/media center materials need to be turned in this month, and fees paid for books that have gone missing.

Hello Families!
It's hard to believe we are going into the last month of the school year. For the month of May, our school wide character trait will be courage. Showing courage at school can look differently for everyone. Courage can be standing up for yourself or others, embracing new challenges, or speaking up in class. As we wrap up this school year, please talk to your student(s) about ways they can show courage!
Another reminder, if your student or family is in need of assistance finding resources for the summer months, please feel free to reach out to me at Kacie.Walton@ccsdut.org, I'd be happy to help.

Hello from the Library!
As we wind up the school year, I would like to thank all our students for being safe, kind, and responsible in the library this year. We recently finished up our Digital Citizenship lessons by learning to think before posting and to be respectful of other people’s feelings in our online interactions. We also talked about how to handle sticky situations when they arise, including how to give a sincere apology, make amends, and rebuild trust.
Currently we are limiting checkouts to one book at a time. Soon we will begin collecting all the books so they can be inventoried and prepped for next year. To help with that and to give everyone ample time to look for missing books, late notices will be handed out to students that include pictures of their books. Please help your child locate them, if you can, and turn them back in by May 22nd. At that point, if your student is still missing a library book, a note will be sent home with the replacement cost. Those fees will need to be paid in the office before the last day of school. Our final AR deadline will be on May 8th, with small prizes given out on May 13th, Pizza with the Principal on May 14th, Rock the Halls on May 15th. We will hold our end-of-the-year AR party on May 21st during lunch for those students who qualified.
I hope every student will continue to read over the summer break. The school district has provided free access to hundreds of free ebooks and audiobooks on SORA. If you aren’t familiar with SORA, I highly recommend you give it a try using this website link: SORA or installing the free app on your device. Students then sign in using their school username and password.
Thank you for a great year, and I wish you all a wonderful summer!

Greenville Mile
Dear Parents,
The annual Greenville Mile will be on Friday, May 22, 2026!
All 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students will participate in this fun and challenging race at Meadow View Park, beginning at 9:30 AM. Students will race by grade level, with separate boys and girls divisions for each grade. Each grade-level race will last approximately 30–40 minutes. Times will start approximately as follows:
● 3rd- 9:30 AM
● 4th- 10:10 AM
● 5th- 10:50 AM
● 6th- 11:30 AM
Our students have been working hard in PE to build their endurance, improve their running skills, and prepare for this big day. The mile can be challenging, but we know they are ready to rise to the occasion and show what they can do!
To help your student feel prepared and successful, please make sure they come with:
● Comfortable running clothes
● Good running shoes
● A water bottle
Families are encouraged to come cheer on their runners, take pictures, and celebrate their accomplishments. Your support makes a big difference and helps create an exciting atmosphere for all students. We are also excited to have the Green Canyon track team join us throughout the day to encourage and motivate our runners.
Important Reminder: ABSOLUTELY NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK. After your student finishes their race, you may meet them in the grassy area in the center of the field.
Thank you for supporting your student and helping make this event a positive and memorable experience!

Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that April is already here. I hope that everyone enjoyed their spring break and that you were able to spend some quality time together during these days off from school.
We have a few awesome school events coming up. On the evening of the 27th (5:30 -7:30pm) the PTO will host “Dragon Night”. They have worked extremely hard to make this a fun activity for our Greenville community. On the 17th is our ‘Greenville’s Got Talent’ assembly. We invite parents of the students who are performing to join us. There will not be seating available for families who do not have a student participating.
End of Year Testing Begins April 20th and runs through May 22nd. Please check with your child’s teacher about testing dates if you know that there are days that your child will need to miss during this interval.
This should be a fun month at Greenville. I hope to be able to see many of you at these upcoming school events. Thank you for all of your support!

Hi Parents and Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable spring break! It’s hard to believe we are winding down the school year! For the month of April, our school wide character trait will be resilience! Resilience can be easily explained to children as the ability to “bounce back” from difficult situations! Resilience develops when children experience a challenge or difficult situation, and learn ways to deal with it!

Greetings from the library!
Spring is finally here! I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. Often when the weather turns nice, people feel inspired to clean out their closets and organize their shelves. If you catch the spring cleaning bug, please keep an eye out for misplaced library books that might be hiding. It’s time to start rounding them all up and getting them turned in for our end-of-year inventory. Notes will be passed out to students who have books over 30 days overdue. I’ll continue to update you about missing library books until the latter part of May, when fines will be assessed for any remaining lost books.
Our last AR reward day is coming up in May. Final quizzes will be due on May 14th, with book and toy prizes handed out on May 13th, Pizza with the Principal on May 14th, and Rock the Halls on May 15th. Additionally, any students who achieved the highest AR level will also be invited to the lunchtime end-of-year celebration on May 21st.
Last but not least, I hope you will consider attending the upcoming Regional Literacy Night, which will be held at Greenville on April 9th from 4:30 to 7 pm. All families living in Cache County are invited to attend this FREE literacy conference designed especially for parents! Classes will be offered for parents, activities will be available for the children, and dinner will be provided at no cost. Space is limited, so please register now at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffS89QMFH_DcjsWe3DawTkYZsHWCCrbgxM3pHkR3a53ash mQ/viewform to reserve your family's spot! Hey Dragons,
This month we have a few items to take note of. First, parent input forms for next year’s class placement will be available in the main office from March 16th - March 27th. Class placement begins right after spring break, so all parent input forms must be back by the end of school on the 27th to be taken into consideration. These forms are not Teacher request forms.
We are so excited to announce that Greenville Reads a Book officially kicks off on March 16th! To get everyone ready, students will bring home their family’s copy of the book—along with a custom bookmark and reading schedule—on Friday, March 13th. We can’t wait to have our entire community sharing the same story through March 27th. Please check the email attachments for all the details!
Greenville’s Got Talent auditions will be on April 8th at 3:45 - 5 pm in the gym. The assembly will be held the following week on the 17th.

Hello Families!
I can't believe it's already March and we only have three more character traits for this school year! For the month of March, we will be focusing on 'mindfulness'. Mindfulness can look different for everyone. Some examples of showing mindfulness in the school setting include:
-Being aware of your body and mind during various emotions
-Taking a second to focus on your breathing
-Focusing on the 5 senses
-Being fully present
-Regulating emotions throughout the day
And so many more! Take a moment to talk about this at home with your student(s) and we will be looking to hand out lots of green tickets this month for the students demonstrating mindfulness!

Greetings from the library!
The first week in March is Read Across America Week, beginning with the birthday of Dr. Seuss. In fact, the entire month of March is dedicated to reading. What a great time to sit down with your child and enjoy a book together! One of my favorite poems is titled The Reading Mother by Strickland Gillilan. It includes this stanza:
You may have tangible wealth untold;
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be--
I had a Mother who read to me.
I feel this sentiment applies to anyone who reads with a child and shares with them the magic and wonder of books and stories.
Speaking of reading together, did you know that AR quizzes can be taken on books that are read independently by your student, read with someone else, or listened in person or on audiobook? All are beneficial and will help your student learn to love books and reading.
For a link to Sora, a district-sponsored app that is free to use and gives our students access to hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks, click here: https://soraapp.com/home Then sign in to Cache County School District using your student’s school username and password.
Our next quiz deadline is Friday, March 13th, and the prizes will be handed out the following week. For more information and links to AR, see our school website under “Media Resources”. View Here
Thank you for supporting the library and for taking good care of the books we all share. It helps our library run smoothly when students return books on time and in good condition. Using the library helps our students learn responsibility, and being responsible is a big part of the Dragon Way!

Welcome to February Everyone!
January was a terrific month with students and teachers focusing on being ‘Ready to Learn.’ It was awesome to see all our students participating in last month's character trait.
I want to let you all know that we appreciate all that you do and the support you provide for us here at Greenville. It's amazing to see a community rallying around and supporting their school. It provides and ensures a supportive environment and culture for these kiddos.
I wanted to drop a quick reminder that the doors to the school are not open till 8:35. Please remind your student that the teachers are using this time to prep and get ready for the day.
Thank you for another great month at Greenville! I hope that February is a fabulous month for you all!

Our school-wide character trait for the month of February is Kindness. This is one of Greenville's favorite traits to demonstrate. Please talk with your student(s) at home and review what showing kindness looks like! Here are some ideas!
*Thank your custodial staff for keeping the school clean.
*Hold the door for someone behind you.
*Join a classmate who is playing or eating by themselves.
*Write a thank you note to the cafeteria staff.

Hello Dragons!
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable winter break.
Attendance is a tough one when sickness has been prevalent in our community. At this point in the year students are chronically absent if they have missed 10 days or more. Research shows consistent attendance, when students are healthy, is the biggest key to their success in school. If you’ve gotten, or do get, an attendance letter it is just starting and giving you a heads up on how many absences your child has had this year. This letter is meant to be informative and an invitation for you to communicate with your child’s teacher or the office about their attendance if you’re concerned.
Kindergarten registration is now open for the upcoming school year 26/27. Please register your student as early as possible. Registration will run until March 31st.
I hope that the New Year is treating you well and that 2026 will be a great year of prosperity and success for us all.

Hello Families!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday break! For the month of January, our school wide positive behavior trait will be ready to learn. As always, teachers and staff will be looking for students who are demonstrating this character trait all month long. Ready to learn might look like:
- Being prepared for school (homework, backpack, coat, etc.)
- Following teacher’s directions - Completing assignments
- Being alert and paying attention (getting a good night's sleep is helpful)
- Eating breakfast
Please review this character trait with your student so that they know what teachers and staff will be looking for during the month of January. Thank you!

Hello from the Library,
I would like to wish a happy New Year to all our amazing students and parents. I hope we can all fill it with happy memories, fun adventures, and a lot of learning and growth.
This month our digital citizenship lesson library is focused on safety, with emphasis on not interacting with people we don’t know on the internet and being careful about the words and pictures we post and share online. Please talk with your student(s) about any home rules you have regarding their use of the internet and check in with them often to see how things are going.
Please also encourage your students to read at home, and when they do, help them to go online and take an AR quiz. It’s quick, easy, and free. Doing so will earn them points that they can trade for prizes here at school. We would love to recognize all our students for meeting their reading goals.
Additionally, reading is its own reward. As Groucho Marx humorously once stated, “Outside of a dog, A book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.”
Our next AR quiz deadline is Friday, January 23rd, at 8 pm. Any quizzes completed after the cutoff will count toward the next deadline. We will hand out small awards on Wednesday, January 28th, and we will hold Pizza with the Principal on Thursday, January 29th, and rock the Halls on January 30th. If your student earned Rock the Halls and/or Pizza with the Principal, they will be awarded a certificate and will bring a note home with more information on Wednesday.
Wishing you all a safe and happy January!

Principal's Message
Here comes December! Believe it or not we are already 1/3rd of the way through our school year! Please look over the dates provided and mark them on your calendar.
An announcement I would like to share with you all this month is that Melissa Smith is our Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026! We will be honoring her at the school board on Thursday Dec. 18th at 5:30pm. Mrs. Smith is very deserving of this award, and really exemplifies what it means to be there for kids and for her coworkers.
Last month we had our student character awards assembly and we were able to award 2 students from each class for being our best examples of the character trait: “Respect”. These students were recognized in front of the entire student body, they received a certificate and their photos have been posted in the common area for the past 3 weeks. On Friday the 5th, we will recognize 2 more students from each class for December’s trait: “Being Safe”. Each month we will celebrate 2 students from each class who are really going above and beyond to be great examples in our school. Next month we will be focusing on the trait of Kindness.
I hope December is a wonderful month for all of you! Thank you for all you do and your support. Greenville is an amazing school and we truly want the best for every student, family, teacher that is a part of our school and community.

Hello from the Library!
I would like to thank everyone who came and supported the book fair in the library. It was a big success, and it was great fun getting to meet some of our amazing parents. I also want to add a quick note to catch you up on what’s going on here in the library in December. In class we have been reviewing proper library behavior, including keeping our voices down and maintaining a calm and safe environment. We have also been talking about how to responsibly care for our books. It is very helpful if you have a special place to keep library books at home that is safe from pets and smaller children. It is also important to keep library books clean and dry. In the event a book does become damaged (it happens), please don’t try to repair it at home. I have library-approved
materials we use at school to fix rips and tears and to replace loose pages. Additionally, some of our books are warrantied and can be replaced for free by the publisher if they are defective, so always return them even if they are damaged.
Our next AR quiz deadline is Friday, December 5 th , at 8 pm. Any quizzes completed after the cutoff will count toward the next deadline. We will hand out small awards on Wednesday, December 10th, and we will hold Pizza with the Principal on Thursday, December 11th and rock the Halls on December 12th . If your student earned Rock the Halls and/or Pizza with the Principal, they will be awarded a certificate and will bring a note home with more information on Wednesday. If you get a chance during the holiday break, please try to look for any overdue or lost books. I will gratefully take back books whenever you find them and am always happy to see them returned to the library.
Thank you for sharing your amazing students with us at school and for all you do to encourage and inspire them to do their best!

Hello, Greenville Families!
There are a few things happening in the library that I want to make you aware of:
1. Greenville is planning a fun Literacy Night here at school on November 17 th from 6 to 7 pm. In conjunction with that activity, we will be holding a book fair in the library. Please plan to stop by on that evening between 5 and 8 pm to say hello and to check out our inventory! We will also be open the rest of that week on Tuesday through Friday before and after school for anyone who can’t make it on Literacy Night. Books make great holiday gifts, and proceeds from the book fair will be used to purchase additional books for the library and to fund the AR Reading Rewards Program!
2. As you may have heard, the North Logan Library is expecting a month-long closure for renovations beginning in the next month or two. Our school library will continue to be available before school and after school for students who would like to check out books between their regularly scheduled weekly library visits. SORA is an online resource provided by our district that can also help keep your student stocked with fun reading materials while the North Logan library is renovating.
3. We have already purchased almost 150 new books for the library this year, and thanks to generous grants from the “Just My Wish Foundation” and the “Cache Education Foundation,” we hope to soon add 80 more! Having fun new books helps students get excited about reading, and we are grateful to our administration and these amazing organizations for funding fantastic new books for our students! Have a wonderful November and a very happy Thanksgiving!

Hello from the Library!
As we wind up the school year, I would like to thank all our students for being safe, kind, and responsible in the library this year. We have been learning proper library etiquette and doing things the Dragon Way. This includes being safe by using walking feet and quiet voices in the library. We are kind when we are respectful of our classmates and our teacher and when we keep the library clean and quiet so others can study and learn. And we are responsible when we do our best in class and when we take care of our books and return them on time.
Recently we have slowed down checkouts to one book at a time. Soon we will begin collecting all the books so they can be inventoried and prepped for next year. To help with that and to give everyone ample time to look for missing books, late notices have been handed out to students that include pictures of their books. Please help your child locate them, if you can, and turn them back in by May 21st. At that point, if your student is still missing a library book, a note will be sent home with the replacement cost. Those fees will need to be paid in the office before the last day of school.
I hope every student will continue to read over the summer break. To encourage summer reading, a free book will be available for students from Jenson Books during the last week of school. The school district also has provided free access to hundreds of free ebooks and audiobooks on SORA. If you aren’t familiar with SORA, I highly recommend you give it a try using this website link: SORA app, or installing the free app on your device. Students then sign in using their school username and password.
Please also take advantage of the summer reading program at the North Logan Library. You can sign your child up at the free fun kickoff party on June 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 at Elk Ridge Park. They also offer storytime and other fun clubs and events. For more information, click this link: North Logan Library Events. If you do visit the public library this summer (and I hope you do!), please take a second to review library etiquette there and to point out the kind, safe, and responsible things you see your students doing.
Thank you for a great year!

Principal's Message
Hey Dragons,
This month we have a few items to take note of. First, parent input forms for next year’s class placement will be available in the main office from March 17th - March 28th. Class placement begins right after spring break, so all parent input forms must be back by the end of school on the 28th to be taken into consideration. These forms are not Teacher request forms.
I’m excited to announce Greenville Reads a Book will start on the 17th of March and run through the 28th. Your student will be bringing this book home on Friday the 14th of March with a reading schedule. Each child gets a bookmark and each family gets a book. Please see attachments in the email.
Greenville’s Got Talent auditions will be on April 10th at 3:45 in the gym. The assembly will be held the following week on the 18th.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. With the change in seasons often come with a traditional spring cleaning. If you find yourself going through your closets and organizing your shelves, please keep an eye out for any misplaced library books that might be hiding. It’s time to start rounding them all up and getting them turned in for our end-of-year inventory. Notes have been passed out to students who have books over 30 days overdue. I’ll continue to update you about missing library books until the latter part of May, when fines will be assessed for any remaining lost books.
Our last AR reward day is coming up in May. Final quizzes will be due on May 16th, with book and toy prizes handed out on May 20th, Pizza with the Principal on May 21st, and Rock the Halls on May 22nd. Any students who achieved the highest AR level will also be invited to the lunchtime end-of-year celebration.
In the next few weeks we will be finishing up our yearly digital citizenship lessons. The last topic will be “News and Media Literacy”. Students will learn to identify credible and trustworthy information sources. We will also talk about their responsibilities as thoughtful media creators and consumers as we become familiar with common advertising gimmicks. This week we addressed cyberbullying. As we talked, it was clear that their online experiences consist mainly gaming. They have been instructed to follow their home rules about gaming and to talk to you if they encounter bullying or other inappropriate behavior or language. Please talk with your student(s) about the challenges they are facing as they interact with other people in the gaming world.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and for everything you are doing to help your children succeed in school and become life-long readers and learners!

A Note from PE
Dear Parents,
The annual Greenville Mile will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2025. All 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd graders will run the race. The races will be held at Meadow View Park beginning at 9:30 AM. There will be a girl and boy division for each grade level. Each grade level is approximately 30-40 minutes long.
Please make sure your student is prepared to run with good running shoes, running clothes, and a water bottle. Come cheer them on, take pictures and congratulate them on their accomplishments. The mile can be challenging, but they can do hard things. Students have been working hard and training for the mile in PE.
The Green Canyon track team is there to encourage and motivate students. ABSOLUTELY, NO SPECTATORS ON THE TRACK! You can meet your student in the middle of the grassy area after their race.

You may have tangible wealth untold;
For a link to Sora, a district-sponsored app that is free to use and gives our students access to hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks, click here. Then sign in to Cache County School District using your student’s school username and password.
Our next quiz deadline is Friday, March 14th, and the prizes will be handed out the following week. For more information and links to AR, see our school website under “Media Resources”. https://www.ccsdut.org/Page/4677
Thank you for supporting the library and for taking good care of the books we all share. It helps our library run smoothly when students return books on time and in good condition. Using the library helps our students learn responsibility, and being responsible is a big part of the Dragon Way!

Principal's Message
Welcome to February Everyone!
January was a terrific month with students and teachers focusing on being ‘Ready to Learn.’ It was awesome to see all our students participating in last month's character trait.
I want to let you all know that we appreciate all that you do and the support you provide for us here at Greenville. It's amazing to see a community rallying around and supporting their school. It provides and ensures a supportive environment and culture for these kiddos.
I wanted to drop a quick reminder that the doors to the school are not open till 8:35. Please remind your students that the teachers are using this time to prep and get ready for the day.
Thank you for another great month at Greenville! I hope that February is a fabulous month for you all!

Hello Parents and Families!
Our school-wide character trait for the month of February will be 'being a good listener'. This is such an important trait for all.
Please talk with your student(s) at home and review what being a good listener looks like!
Here at Greenville, being a good listener means actively paying attention to what another person is saying, not interrupting, having respectful body-language, asking follow -up questions, and responding thoughtfully.

Hi, Greenville Families!
Just a quick update from the library:
AR: We gave away 137 prizes in January! Students earned them by reading and taking short online quizzes for the books they read. Our next quiz deadline is Friday, March 14th, and the prizes will be handed out the following week. For more information and links to AR, see our school website under “Media Resources”. https://www.ccsdut.org/Page/4677
New Books: I am in the process of adding a Job Center to the library, where students can check out books about careers they are interested in. Each book contains information about what the job is like and what special training and skills are needed to be hired.
Digital Citizenship: This month’s focus is on our digital footprint and identity. We use Common Sense Media for our curriculum. https://www.commonsense.org/education/digital-citizenship The objective for this month’s lessons is that “students consider the benefits and risks of online sharing and explore how a digital persona can affect one’s sense of self, reputation, and relationships.”
Thanks for all you do to help your students read to succeed! It’s a pleasure to serve them in the library.
